Inspired by Indian culture and that lifestyle of just drinking, eating delicious food and enjoying life, Guru Kitchen + Bar offers residents and visitors to Edmonton’s Ice District an approachable and modern twist on traditional Indian cuisine. Possessing a chic, inviting and vibrant atmosphere and located steps from Rogers Place in the heart of the city’s burgeoning downtown business, dining and entertainment district, the restaurant opened its doors in February 2020.

Our wine program is a panacea for the homogenous with over 250 selections showing the diversity, versatility and balance of the range of wine varieties and styles that will and do compliment the cuisine.  There is a strong focus on wines from small, independent producers from around the world who are passionate about their craft and whose wines reflect the place from which they originate, the nature of the vintage and the personality of the growers.

Private Dining & Events

Our Private Dining team is eager to create a custom dining experience tailored just for you and your guests. From intimate celebrations to large presentations and weddings alike there is almost nothing outside of our scope.

Our private dining suite can host up to 20 guests for your private event, dinner or meeting.  Our Chef’s Table can accommodate up to 14 guests.

Our team of experts will work with you to customize menus, wines, and other offerings, so you can enjoy your event while we take care of the rest.

  • My experience was wonderful I told them that I have high blood pressure and if they can make some food with less salt and the chef did a great job to deliver great taste for my diet and I see that they really cared also definitely coming back very good food !

  • We’ve been to Guru at the Ice District a couple of times and have thoroughly enjoyed each dining experience. Guru is a modern take on Indian cuisine. I’d recommend the grilled chicken tikka, vegetable samosas, butter chicken, beef vindaloo, raita, and gulab jamun. Also, the naan is exceptional!

  • I don’t write reviews often but this place needs more recognition. I am visiting from calgary and on the way to the Oiler game. The ginger beef is probably the tastiest thing I’ve ever ordered at ANY restaurant. My husband ordered the butter chicken and steam rice, also 10/10. This place should be busier than any of the other restaurants around here, at all times.
